2-Piece 370mm Coil Spring Compressor Set for Strut Repair

The W40712 Coil Spring Compressor Set is a professional suspension service tool designed for removing and installing MacPherson strut assemblies and coil springs. Each set contains 2 pieces, used as a matched pair so the spring is loaded symmetrically for smooth, controlled and straight compression.

Product Overview

The W40712 Coil Spring Compressor Set is a professional suspension service tool designed for removing and installing MacPherson strut assemblies and coil springs. Each set contains 2 pieces, used as a matched pair so the spring is loaded symmetrically for smooth, controlled and straight compression.

The body is drop-forged from premium alloy steel and quench-tempered for high tensile strength and thread durability. With a 370 mm working length, it covers the coil spring sizes found on most passenger cars and SUVs. The forcing screw features a 1/2″ square drive (DR) socket, so it can be operated directly with a 1/2″ ratchet, breaker bar, air impact or electric wrench — dramatically speeding up strut disassembly.

The forged hooks feature deep anti-slip serrated grooves and a safety catch that lock firmly onto the coil, preventing slipping or sudden release during compression.

Key Features

  • Premium Alloy Steel Drop-Forged — One-piece forging, no casting porosity, high load capacity
  • 1/2″ DR Square Drive — Compatible with ratchets, air and electric impact wrenches for faster work
  • 370 mm Working Length — Fits most car and SUV coil springs
  • Supplied as a Matched Pair — Symmetrical loading prevents spring tilt and kick-out
  • Serrated Anti-Slip Hooks — Deep grooves grip the coil securely with a safety lock
  • Trapezoidal Thread Screw — Efficient, self-locking and smooth in operation
  • Corrosion-Resistant Finish — Plated / black-oxide treated for humid workshop use
  • One-Piece Forged Jaws — Retain shape after long-term heavy use

FAQ

Q1: What is your MOQ?
A: 1 carton (10 sets) for stock items; 300 sets for custom-logo orders.

Q2: How many pieces per set? Can one be used alone?
A: 1 set = 2 pieces. They must always be used as a symmetrical pair. Using a single unit causes uneven loading and hook slippage — a serious safety hazard.

Q3: What does 370 mm refer to, and which vehicles does it fit?
A: 370 mm is the overall working length of the compressor. It suits the MacPherson coil springs of most passenger cars and SUVs. Send us the spring’s wire diameter, outer diameter and free length and we will help confirm compatibility.

Q4: Can I use an air impact or electric wrench?
A: Yes — the screw has a 1/2″ DR square socket for 1/2″ drive tools. We recommend a controlled-speed electric wrench, tightening alternately in small increments. Avoid aggressive high-torque impact, which can damage the threads or cause sudden spring release.

Q5: Is it really alloy steel? Can it be verified?
A: Yes — premium alloy structural steel, drop-forged and heat-treated. Material certificates or third-party (SGS/BV) testing can be arranged on request.

Q6: Will the hooks slip off the spring?
A: The hooks have deep serrated anti-slip grooves plus a safety catch to grip the coil firmly. Before use, confirm the coil is fully seated in the groove and wipe any grease off the hooks.

Q7: Can you add our brand logo?
A: Yes. Laser engraving, steel stamping, silk-screen printing and custom paint colors are available, along with color boxes, blister inserts, manuals and barcodes.

Q8: What is your lead time?
A: 7-15 days for stock orders; approximately 30-45 days for OEM orders depending on quantity and packaging.

Q9: What payment terms do you accept?
A: T/T (30% deposit + 70% balance), L/C at sight, Trade Assurance, Western Union, and PayPal for small sample orders.

Q10: Can you send a sample first?
A: Yes. Sample charges are refundable against a bulk order; freight is at the buyer’s cost.

Q11: How is it packed? Can packaging be changed?
A: Standard packing is 1 set per box, 10 sets per export carton. Blow-molded cases, retail color boxes or blister hang cards are available on request.

Q12: How should it be maintained?
A: Clean off grease and debris after each use, lubricate the screw threads and store in a dry place. Always inspect before every use — check for a bent screw, stripped threads, or cracked/spread hooks. Stop using and replace immediately if any defect is found.
