Q2: What is a “speeder handle”, and how does it differ from a ratchet?
A: A speeder handle (speed brace) has a Z-shaped crank design that lets you spin the socket continuously at several times the speed of a ratchet, making it ideal for rapidly running long bolts in and out — wheel bolts, oil pan bolts, gearbox mounting bolts and similar.
The difference from a ratchet wrench: the ratchet excels at precise control and small-arc work in confined spaces, but each swing only turns the fastener a limited amount. The speeder uses continuous rotation to dramatically cut the time spent on long fasteners.
