Product Overview
The W40724 Tie Rod End Puller (ball joint separator) is a professional chassis service tool engineered for removing steering tie rod ends, brake linkage ball joints and various suspension linkage joints.
Each unit is drop-forged from premium alloy steel, then quenched and tempered for outstanding tensile and bending strength, so it withstands repeated heavy-duty use without deforming or cracking. The 18.6 mm working diameter precisely fits the tie rod ball studs used on most passenger cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles, while the compact 135 mm pulling length allows easy access to tight chassis areas and narrow knuckle gaps where longer pullers simply cannot reach.
The rigid C-frame body combined with a trapezoidal forcing screw delivers smooth, powerful thrust that releases a tight ball stud without damaging the knuckle taper, threads or surrounding components — completely replacing destructive hammer removal.

FAQ
Q1: What is your MOQ?
A: 1 carton (18 pcs) for stock items; 300 pcs for custom-logo orders.
Q2: What does 18.6 mm refer to, and how do I know it fits my vehicle?
A: 18.6 mm is the working diameter (jaw opening capacity) — the maximum joint body / stud diameter the tool accepts. Measure the joint with calipers before use; anything up to 18.6 mm will fit. This size covers the vast majority of tie rod ends on passenger cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles. Send us your vehicle make, model and year if you need help confirming.
Q3: What does 135 mm pulling length mean, and how does it differ from longer models?
A: 135 mm is the overall length of the tool. Compared with 265/275 mm long-body pullers, this compact design excels in cramped chassis areas such as the inner side of the steering knuckle or under the engine bay, while longer models suit open positions and larger joints. Stocking both lengths gives the widest coverage.
Q4: Is the material really alloy steel? Can it be verified?
A: Yes — premium alloy structural steel, drop-forged, quenched and tempered. Material certificates or third-party (SGS / BV) testing can be arranged on request.
Q5: Can I hammer the screw to speed up removal?
A: Not recommended. The tool works by screw pressure; hammering damages the threads and tip and can cause sudden failure. If the joint is seized, apply penetrating oil and wait, or tap the side of the steering knuckle to help break the taper.
Q6: Will it damage the dust boot?
A: This is a separator-type tool intended for joints being replaced; the boot may deform during removal. If you need to remove and reuse the original joint, choose a ball joint separator with protective pads (also available in our range).
Q7: Can it be driven with an air or electric wrench?
A: The drive end is hexagonal and accepts a socket, but we recommend manual, slow and even tightening. Impact guns can cock the stud, damage threads, and make it hard to feel the release point.
Q8: Can you add our brand logo?
A: Yes. Laser engraving, steel stamping, silk-screen printing and custom paint colors are available, along with blister hang cards, color boxes, manuals and barcodes for retail display.
Q9: What is your lead time?
A: 7-15 days for stock orders; approximately 30-45 days for OEM orders depending on quantity and packaging.
Q10: What payment terms do you accept?
A: T/T (30% deposit + 70% balance), L/C at sight, Trade Assurance, Western Union, and PayPal for small sample orders.
Q11: Can you send a sample first?
A: Yes. Sample charges are refundable against a bulk order; freight is at the buyer’s cost.
Q12: How is it packed? Can packaging be changed?
A: Standard packing is 1 pc per box, 18 pcs per export carton. Blister hang cards, color boxes or blow-molded cases are available on request.
Q13: How should it be maintained?
A: Clean off grease and metal debris after use, lubricate the screw threads and tip, and store in a dry place. Inspect before every use — check for a bent screw, stripped threads, a spread C-frame or any cracks, and stop using immediately if any defect is found.
